“I Want To See The Morning Star” is the title of the feature documentary trilogy we are working on about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We are currently in post-production with “Wait Until Dawn” (DE 95 minutes) and “Kant, Kaliningrad & the War” (DE 87 minutes). The third part of the trilogy is in development. In addition, we are currently working on the development of two feature films.

The Sun Brings It to Light (working title) -Die Sonne bringt es an den Tag (AT)
The route through Ukraine to the east passes many mass graves containing hundreds of thousands of murdered Jews, adults and children who were shot during the invasion by Nazi German troops. The present: every night, Russia launches attacks against the people of Ukraine. The two eras are converging in an eerie way. Apparently, we did not do enough during the intervening period of peace to transform history.
Kant, Kaliningrad & the War - Kant, Kaliningrad & der Krieg
Filming began in 2016 in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, where the great philosopher of the Enlightenment spent almost his entire life. But then came Russia's large-scale attack on Ukraine, and the protagonists forgot their clever insights about Kant. Kant's question “What is human being? ” is associated here with a painful outcome.
Wait Until Dawn - Warte bis es hell ist
“You suddenly realize that you have nothing else than what you carry inside you,” says Rada Makeienkova in Kyiv, spring 2022. Almost four years later, Ukraine is still fighting. One of the protagonists was wounded on the front lines of the war. Others are trying to get adapted to Russia's nightly attacks on cities. The film project, which began in the shock of the attack, became a long-term observation.
Starting a new film project is always like setting off into the unknown, where it is not yet clear whether we will perish or return with a treasure trove of stories about people, a map of a country that has never been seen before.
